Well done to everyone on your super costumes.  You all looked amazing and you were all so encouraging of each other’s efforts.  It made us very proud to hear all of the lovely comments you were sharing with one another.  A big thank you to all of our wonderful parents.  We know the amount of time and energy that goes into these days and we really do appreciate your efforts.

Grandparents Day

A big shout out to all of the grandparents and special visitors who came to our classroom today.  It was so lovely to meet you all…..

2016 Oatlympics

Today we held our 2016 Oatlympics Opening Ceremony.  It was great to see all of the grades, representing different countries, parading around the gym.  The country we represented was Ethiopia.  We chose this country because it is where Kibra, our sponsor child, is from.  It was a very friendly and joyous opening ceremony and it was a great way to kick off our Oatlympics.  We would like to thank everyone for the effort they put into their outfits today, you all looked terrific.  We really do appreciate your enthusiasm.

We also had our own medal ceremony. We were pretty excited to receive a gold medal!

Bully Busters

Today we had the opportunity to attend a Bully Busters workshop. We have been running the Bully Busters program at Oatlands for over ten years and we have found it to be an extremely effective tool for students. The aim of the workshop is to provide students with assertiveness strategies and help build resilience. Because it is a whole school program it means that everyone is on the same page when it comes to reporting and dealing with bullying issues.
